You will learn more about observation with site measuring. Students will also learn technical skills in using grids, their many uses as a tool, and how it assists in portrait drawing, as well as one & two-point perspective drawing.
Fundamentals of Drawing 1 is required before taking Fundamentals of Drawing 2.

Quilted Table Runner Workshop: Crown Jewels
Join instructor Tanya Ehrsam for an introduction to patchwork quilting. Following a basic pattern called Crown Jewels, students will learn how to cut and piece their table runner top, layer batting and backing, and finish by quilting. You will leave with a functional piece of art that can be used any time of year, depending on the color scheme. You will be provided a supply list with yardage needed of cotton fabric so the project can be suited to your taste.

Feather Gel Plate Printing
Join mixed media artist, Deborah Clark, for a no-art-skills-needed, nature-centered class! Experiment as you learn how to make your own colorful art papers using a gel plate technique for monoprinting. Learn color mixing and utilize a variety of feather elements as imprints to transfer onto gel plates – to create your own unique papers for scrapbooking, collage, card making, or your own beautiful, frameable art! This class is truly a relaxed, open opportunity for spontaneity and creativity. Beginners are welcome.

Knitting Basics: Socks (Week 1)
Join knitter Tanya Ehrsam to learn the fundamentals of sock knitting. Whether you're a beginner or have some knitting experience, this class will teach you how to create your very own pair of comfortable, hand-knit socks from start to finish.
Students will learn basic techniques such as casting on, knit and purl stitches, knitting in the round using circular needles or double-pointed needles, and creating the various parts of a sock. Students will be able to purchase their own yarn, so it suits their taste. A simple version of a Vanilla Latte sock pattern will be followed, with instructor guidance and homework built into the four-session course.
By the end of this class, you will have a beautiful, custom pair of socks made with your own hands and the confidence to tackle more advanced sock patterns in the future!

Wee Wednesdays
Toddlers (and parents!) are invited to join us for Wee Wednesdays! Wee Wednesdays is a bi-monthly program held from 10 to 11 am on the first and third Wednesday of the month. During each session, wee ones will gain art, reading, critical thinking, and tactile development skills. Each session will be a new project created on-site for your little ones to take home and enjoy!

This class does not specifically teach basic drawing techniques (other than how to shade a sphere), therefore an understanding of basic drawing and greyscale values is advised but not necessary. If you are a beginner, don’t worry! Students will learn to draw spheres and eggs primarily as subject matter in a hands-on and in-depth manner through assignments and in-class discussions.

Ombre Dyed Macrame Plant Hangers
Join instructor and plant mom Kim Bigard for a creative session of macrame. Students will learn a few basic knots that can be utilized in a variety of ways to create artistic and imaginative macrame designs, and double as functional art. Students will complete a macrame plant hanger, and learn how to use fiber-reactive dyes to create an ombre effect for a colorful punch to their houseplants. Knitting Basics: Socks (Week 4)
Join knitter Tanya Ehrsam to learn the fundamentals of sock knitting. Whether you're a beginner or have some knitting experience, this class will teach you how to create your very own pair of comfortable, hand-knit socks from start to finish.
Students will learn basic techniques such as casting on, knit and purl stitches, knitting in the round using circular needles or double-pointed needles, and creating the various parts of a sock. Students will be able to purchase their own yarn, so it suits their taste. A simple version of a Vanilla Latte sock pattern will be followed, with instructor guidance and homework built into the four-session course.
By the end of this class, you will have a beautiful, custom pair of socks made with your own hands and the confidence to tackle more advanced sock patterns in the future!

Quilted Table Runner Workshop: Crown Jewels
Join instructor Tanya Ehrsam for an introduction to patchwork quilting. Following a basic pattern called Crown Jewels, students will learn how to cut and piece their table runner top, layer batting and backing and finish by quilting. You will leave with a functional piece of art that can be used any time of year, depending on the color scheme. You will be provided a supply list with yardage needed of cotton fabric so the project can be suited to your taste.

Goat Milk Soapmaking Workshop
Instructor Samantha Falsetta of C+S Farm will show you how to create your own silky smooth cold process soap. Using fresh goat milk from her farm, you will be provided with all the ingredients, supplies, and instructions to begin your journey in soapmaking and have a homemade 1lb batch of soap to take home. Students will get to select from an assortment of autumn and holiday-inspired fragrances and colors to make for a luxurious bathtime experience. Emphasis will be placed on the safe handling of materials, as cold-process soap utilizes lye for the saponification process. Please note, students should come with long-sleeved clothing and closed-toe shoes.

An assortment of holiday-themed and general-interest trinkets will be available. Wands make a great gift for your gardening enthusiast loved ones! Each participant will be provided supplies for one garden wand. Attendees may purchase additional wand supplies for $15 each.

As the days get shorter, it's time to cozy up and embrace the warmth of the season with festive holiday candles. Watercolors 101 (Week 6)
If you have always wanted to test the waters of this medium, join watercolor artist and instructor Cheryl Meyer in this introductory six-week skill-building class. She will cover watercolor basics such as painting paper and canvas, various brush strokes and techniques, watercolor pencils, color theory, and mixing colors. This class will also cover hard versus soft edges, wet on wet, dry on dry, pouring, glazing, spritzing, masking techniques, correcting mistakes, value sketches, and methods of putting the drawing on paper. Students will experiment with each technique and make a color chart of mixed colors. This course is perfect for beginners who are ready to begin their journey in watercolors! No experience is needed and all supplies are provided.
The final project will be a take-home project using all the techniques presented.

Beginner Sewing: Bowl Cozies
Join instructor Tanya Ehrsam in this introductory sewing class for beginners. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the basics of sewing while creating your own cozy bowl holders—perfect for holding trinkets or keeping your hands safe from hot dishes and adding a personal touch to your kitchen.
Students of all ages will be guided step-by-step through selecting fabrics, understanding essential sewing techniques, and mastering the use of a sewing machine. No prior experience is necessary! By the end of the session, you’ll have completed your bowl cozy to take home and the confidence to tackle future sewing projects.
Note: If you have a sewing machine, you are welcome to bring it. Several sewing machines will be available for class use.

Creative Writing: Flash Fiction (Week 1)
Join instructor Cheryl Meyer to practice the art of succinct storytelling. Writers of all experience levels will learn the craft of short-shorts, or flash fiction (stories of less than 1000 words) and hone their skills in creating impactful narratives within a limited word count. This workshop will introduce writers to the form and use prompts and writing exercises to practice the precision and focus of flash fiction narrative.

Needle Felted Leaf Garland
Join instructor Kim Bigard in exploring the wonders of wool. Wool can be manipulated to create felt, a stable medium with softness, texture, dimension, and myriad possibilities for flat and sculptural creation. This class will teach you how to needle felt individual leaves that will be strung together for a festive fall garland. You’ll learn essential needle felting techniques, including how to shape, layer, and embellish wool to bring your fall leaves to life.
