Gesture Drawing Workshop

Instructor Matthew Grimmer will guide students in learning to use loose and energetic linework to create a portrait from a live model. Gestural drawing focuses on using light, quick linework which is used for rapidly capturing one's subject; often "suggesting" shapes and features rather than meticulously drawing them. We will make numerous practice drawings that will involve fully rendering our model in only a matter of minutes. After, students will be focusing on a longer drawing that will have a more finished render. This drawing class is open to any experience level.

This workshop will be held from 1-4 pm on Saturday, March 8 in the Idonea Hersee Classroom at Art Reach, 111 E. Broadway in Mount Pleasant
