  • Art Reach of Mid Michigan 111 E. Broadway St Mt. Pleasant United States (map)

Instructor Matthew Grimmer leads this primer on the art of soft pastels in landscape drawings. Students will delve into weekly concepts specific to using pastels in the outdoors. You will explore color theory while practicing renderings of landscapes drawn from both life and imagination, as well as drawing architecture and people within urban landscapes. You’ll walk away understanding how to build layered drawings, giving you the ability to create drawings in the outdoors or “en plein air”, as well as build foundational skills in drawing in general.

No experience is needed in pastels and all supplies are provided.

This three-week course will be held from 12-3 pm, Wednesday, April 30-May 14, in the Idonea Hersee Classroom at Art Reach, 111 E. Broadway in Mount Pleasant.
