The Festival of Banners is a public art event that debuted in the summer of 2009. The festival is a celebration of art and community spirit! One of the festival's goals is to produce banners designed and painted by community members. They will hang on light poles throughout Isabella County.

Adult artists pay $30 to paint their banners and will receive their banners after the festival. Children 18 and under and adults over the age of 65 may participate free of charge (you may purchase your banner for $30). Unpaid banners are available first come-first served.

Submissions will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The banners will go up in May and fly on street poles in Mt. Pleasant, Shepherd, Pickard Street in Union Township, and McLaren Central Michigan until November, creating a colorful and unique public art exhibit! Artists will be notified when banners are down and available for pick up.

Due to limited availability, banners will be limited to three (3) per family.
