Join instructor Kim Bigard for an introduction to the art of mosaic. In this beginner-friendly workshop, students will have the opportunity to choose from a selection of simple projects, allowing them to design their pieces based on their skill level and interests. Options include coasters, trivets, flower pots, or picture frames to mosaic.
Students will explore a variety of materials and tools, learning essential techniques such as cutting, arranging, and adhering stained glass tesserae to create colorful and functional artworks. Safety precautions will be emphasized, particularly regarding handling sharp glass.
The course will be divided into two sessions to ensure ample time for proper setting and grouting of final projects, allowing students to complete their mosaics with confidence.
This course will be held from 1-4 pm Monday, July 29 & 3-4 pm Wednesday, July 31, in the Idonea Hersee Classroom at Art Reach, 111 E. Broadway in Mount Pleasant.
