Learn a new skill while creating functional art in the form of linocut printing. Instructor Emily Gunning will guide students in designing and carving linoleum blocks to utilize for printmaking. Once your block is ready, you’ll learn how to apply ink and use printing techniques to transfer your artwork onto a tote bag, creating a decorative and unique bag for everyday use. No experience is necessary and all supplies are provided. Students will be provided an Art Reach tote bag to print. You are welcome to bring your own tote bag if you wish.
This two-week course meets from 5:30-7 pm, Thursdays, February 6 & 13, in the Idonea Hersee Classroom at Art Reach, 111 E Broadway in Mount Pleasant.
