Art Reach encourages life-long art education and enrichment. Two Art Reach scholarships are available for students interested in furthering their education and enhancing their ability in the arts. Please call (989) 773-3689 with further questions.

Congratulations Scholarship Winners!

Art Reach would like to congratulate the 2009 scholarship winners. The Folkert Scholarship for Blue Lake Arts Camp worth $500 was awarded to Seth Hartshorne in partnership with the GFWC of Mt. Pleasant. The Stevenson scholarship was awarded to Kayla Wilt for $250.

Folkert Scholarship

This partial scholarship offers one two-week summer session at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in memory of Kendall Folkert. The scholarship is available to any student entering ninth grade in the fall. The applicant must demonstrate enthusiasm, ability and passion in instrumental music, choir, theatre, dance or visual arts. Formal training is unnecessary.

Creative Writing Award

This creative writing award was established in memory of Jo Stephenson through Art Reach. Stephenson was a professional journalist employed with Central Michigan University until her death in 1991. The $250 award may be used in any way that will benefit the recipient's writing ability.
