Job Description – Program Coordinator

Art Reach of Mid Michigan is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Program Coordinator.  This is a part time (25 hours/week) position with potential for full time employment. 

Responsibilities include:  Class creation and scheduling, creation of marketing materials, art exhibition coordination, creation and updating of electronic mailers, and coordination of Special Projects as needed. 

The successful candidate for this position will be a person with a positive disposition who supports the arts and art education, will have strong organization and interpersonal skills (with people of all ages), excellent writing/communication skills, be proficient in graphic design software, possess the ability to work independently while being part of a "team", ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities. Experience in art installation will be helpful. This person will represent Art Reach to its Board of Directors, members, volunteers and community at large.

Pay Range:                   $10-12/hour, commensurate with experience.  There are no insurance or                                       retirement benefits with this position.

Hours:                                      Flexible. 

General Description of Position:
Under the general supervision of the Executive Director of Art Reach, the Program Coordinator will be responsible for program development, scheduling, contracting with instructors/artists, marketing, web updates and press releases for the following programs:

Classes: Schedule and facilitate classes for the following time periods:
February - May (3 children's classes, 3 adult classes)
June - August (Summer camp(s), 1 adult class)
October - December (4 children's classes, 2 adult classes)
This employee is responsible for determining supply needs and ordering supplies.

E-mail Blasts: Creation of e-mail marketing and information.  Update Constant Contact information regularly.

Marketing Materials:  Create marketing materials for Art Reach programs.  This will require strong organizational skills and the ability to work with various personality types.

In addition, this person will be expected to attend committee meetings, act as liaison between committee chairs and Executive Director when necessary, assist with new programming ideas as well as plan of action to bring ideas to fruition, report weekly on progress of programs, recruit, nurture and retain volunteers for programming needs, assist with marketing efforts and other duties as needed.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate, Bachelors degree in communications or related field preferred
  • Graphic art skills as well as knowledge of office terminology, procedures and equipment
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver
  • Excellent writing/communication skills
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible working hours
